This year’s Jamestown/Bemus Point Walk to a Cure was a huge success, raising more than $80,000! It was held on May 23 in Bemus Point at The Village Casino on scenic Lake Chautauqua. The weather was beautiful as the 269 walkers that made up the 48 teams gathered for the day’s festivities. The local Kiwanis chapters set up activities for the kids such as ring toss, plinko, bubble blowing and balloons. They also served hot dogs and delicious smoothies to all the hungry walkers. The Kiwanis Club, on top of everything else they helped with at this year’s Walk, also raised more than $2,600 for JDRF! John Erickson, DJ from the Media One Group, provided music for the event.

A beautiful, scenic route for this

Returning team Kyle’s Kruizers came together to raise an astonishing $11,225. They have been a part of the walk for the past eight years and have continuously proven their devotion to finding a cure. A few other family teams we would like to mention are Too Sweet, who raised $2,931; Weezie’s Walkers at $1,872; and Alex’s Allies, who raised $1,456! Great job to all teams and walkers who participated in this year’s walk! We hope to see you next year.
