Mark your calendar for Sunday, Sept. 26, and walk with us to help us reach our goal of raising $1.087 million to CRUSH diabetes! The 2010 Walk Corporate Chair, Neil Brenner, vice president of Cycle Systems, invites you to join us for the 2010 Walk to Cure Diabetes at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in downtown Roanoke. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. with the walk starting at 2 p.m. Prepare for a beautiful day filled with fun, food, music, T-shirt contests, children’s activities and more! Enjoy the crisp fall air with family, friends, neighbors and co-workers along the 2.5-mile route through the streets of Roanoke. Those looking for a more leisurely stroll will find the one-mile route very family friendly. To add to the excitement, Cycle Systems will be on hand to weigh all aluminum cans brought by teams on walk day. Teams are encouraged to collect and bring as many cans as possible! Cycle Systems will then weigh each team’s collection to determine a corresponding dollar amount. All proceeds will benefit JDRF as well as add to each team’s goal. A prize will be awarded to the Corporate Team and the Family Team who bring the most can weight. Start your can collection today and help JDRF CRUSH diabetes.
