Hopefully
as you read the newsletter, winter will be nearly complete and spring peeking
right around the corner. By the time you receive this issue, we will have
completed our Physician’s Pheast at the Kemp Auto Museum and be in
the final preparation for the Annual NKF Walk at St. Louis University. The
purpose of our events is fundraising, which supports services for patients
and those impacted by kidney disease. The hundreds of volunteers who support
our cause make all of our events and programs possible. In 2008, we had more
than 500 volunteers who supported the NKF in many different ways, including
working events and assisting with health screenings. These dedicated individuals
are critical to our mission and success.
I
would like to recognize our board members as they continue to support the
organization and our events. We continue
to seek ways to strengthen the organization
to extend our reach within Missouri and Metro East.
As
the National Kidney Foundation is impacted by the difficult economic situation
upon us, we remain committed
to assist our constituents. The demand for financial
assistance and nutritional supplements continues to increase as traditional
funding sources have been reduced. Your continued support is appreciated
as the need is even greater.
