Southwest Missouri Kidney Walk - Making Friends and Taking Steps

HJMIVHJYLI
Walkers are reminded of the 26 million Americans living with CKD as they pass by the flag display in Phelps Grove Park. Each flag represents 100,000 Americans with CKD.
Loui the Cardinal, Radio Personality Rick Moore and PAWS the Kidney Bear enjoy Kidney Walk festivities.
The sun was shining, PAWS ran free at Phelps Grove Park and everyone had a good cheer – it must be the Kidney Walk. More than 250 supporters gathered in Springfield, Mo., the morning of May 30 to participate in the 2nd Annual Southwest Missouri Kidney Walk. The Walk raised more than $35,000 for local programs and services and will continue to grow as the signature fundraising event of the NKF in the Ozarks.

Many thanks go out to the hard-working committee who helped plan the Walk and the Corporate Recruitment Breakfast and to all the volunteers who helped make this event so memorable. Corporate sponsors and teams were the heart of the fundraising success and the NKF would like to express sincere gratitude for the overwhelming support.

Congratulations to the top fundraising individuals and teams! Top Fundraisers were Tracy Mitchell, Nan Wagoner and Michael Engleman. Top Team Fundraisers were Cool Beans (CoxHealth), JCPenney’s From Heaven (JCPenney’s), and Nephro Stones (Springfield Nephrology).

Sponsors for the 2009 Southwest Missouri Kidney Walk included Cox Health (presenting sponsor), Esterly, Schneider & Associates, St. John’s Health Plans, Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center, Integrity Home Care, Fresenius Medical Care and Abbott.
