About the Games
You might be wondering, what are these Games I keep reading about? The National Kidney Foundation U.S. Transplant Games® give transplant recipients, living donors and donor family members a chance to come together to honor the gift of life and celebrate the success of transplantation.
The Games are held every other year in different cities throughout the United States. More than 2,000 children and adult recipients from every state attend this extraordinary four-day event.
Transplant recipients* of ALL ages and skill levels can participate competitively in one or more of 12 sports offered during the Games.
Living donors and family members of deceased donors have the opportunity to meet others who have shared similar experiences. During the Games, they are also honored for their ‘gifts’ at special ceremonies.
* Heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, intestine and bone marrow
Team Wisconsin
The National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin (NKFW) coordinates the participation of living donors, Wisconsin transplant recipients and donor family members attending the NKF U.S. Transplant Games.
