Congratulations!
As you might expect, last year was our best fundraising year
ever. Here are some of the highlights:
More than $1.1 million raised to find a cure. Our three Walks generated
more than $491,000. Wow! Thanks to all our supporters who helped
make that happen.
We had the distinction as No. 1 in the country for
the Walgreen’s Sneaker Sales in our area last fall. Thanks to the folks
who acted as
JDRF Ambassadors
and visited stores to generate enthusiasm! It made a difference!
Jim Shedivy has been invited to join the JDRF International investment
committee. We are honored to have one of our own involved at the
international level.
We received an Excellence in Major Gifts Award at the international
conference due to Sara Rankin securing more than $600,000 in major
gifts last year.
Hooray, job well done, Sara!
But the work must go on. There certainly was no “off” this off-season
for any of us involved with JDRF. Preparation and planning is
occurring to
get us ready for the hectic season ahead. Sponsors are being
approached for all three
of our Walks this coming spring. We are also launching a new
event – a most upscale gala – in Naples in February. Please continue
to share your
support
with us and help draw new energy and resources into the JDRF
family. We appreciate
every bit of anything that anyone does for us!
