Madison At Exton Crossing Community Picnic
|
In these tough financial times, corporate support for nonprofit organizations is on a steady decline; however, despite the current economic climate, one company in particular has not only maintained their support for the NKFDV, but is going above and beyond, breaking NKFDV fundraising records for the Kidney Walk program to support the mission against chronic kidney disease. Madison Apartment Group, one of the premier housing providers in the country, has become a driving force behind the Philadelphia Kidney Walk – and all 28 Madison apartment communities in the Northeast region have joined forces to support the 2009 Walk at the Philadelphia Zoo.
All of the Pennsylvania-area Madison Communities have been holding fundraisers in order to raise money for the Philadelphia Kidney Walk. Such events include spaghetti dinners and ice cream socials for community residents, as well as car washes and bake sales. Madison At Exton Crossing, a Madison property with more than 400 residents in Exton, Pa., held a community picnic on June 26 to raise funds for their Kidney Walk Team. The event included dinner and live entertainment for all the residents, featured raffles for various door prizes and a drawing for a free month of rent for one lucky community resident.
"Madison as a corporation recognizes the true importance in participating in the Kidney Walk program," says Shelly Innis, regional property manager for Madison Apartment Group. "It is important to realize that despite a tough economy, the need for support for kidney patients is always prevalent." Madison Apartment Group pledged to raise $20,000 for the 2009 Walk, and is making great progress to achieve their goal by Oct. 4. For more information on Madison Apartment Group, visit www.maglp.com.
Don't forget to mark your calendar for the Delaware Valley Kidney Walks on Sunday, Oct. 4. This year the NKFDV is offering three Walk locations in one day! Join us at the following Walk locations: The Philadelphia Zoo, Lehigh Parkway in Allentown, Pa., and Rockford Park in Wilmington, Del.
