Patients and their caregivers came from all over the state to learn from experts and their peers at the annual Patient Conference on Oct. 15, 2009. “At our conferences, patients learn life skills that improve their dayto- day lives,” said Peggy Strawhorn, patient services director. “We try to help them realize how much improving their diet and exercise habits can improve the way they feel and cut down on the likelihood of complications,” said Strawhorn. We greatly appreciate all of the volunteers who helped make the conference possible.
