  1. In West Texas, more than 3,943 persons need dialysis to live … they are part of the 333,064 Americans currently on dialysis.
  2. Approximately 6,703 Texans are currently waiting for a life saving kidney transplant. More than 1,335 kidney transplants have been performed in West Texas.
  3. Thousands of other area residents have chronic kidney damage and many will face the prospect of kidney replacement within their lifetime.
  4. One in nine Americans – 26 million people in this country – are afflicted with kidney or urinary tract diseases, and 26 million more people at risk.
  5. More than a billion dollars are needed each year for kidney disease related health care costs!
